Secrets of the Gothic Quarter

Barcelona, in the year 10 BC. A Roman legion climbs a low hill beside the sea and drives its first stake into the ground. They name the hill Mont Taber, and the town they build around it Barcino. It is barely a thousand paces across. Two thousand years later, that town is still here. Not beneath the city - inside it. Its walls hold up apartment blocks. Its temple stands in a courtyard behind an unmarked door. Its highest point is marked by a plaque most people walk past every day without ever looking up.
